12 highly addictive ear worm songs

Our first ever “challenge mix” was to find 12 ear worm songs that are hard to get out of your head once you listen to them. We each picked 6 tracks, and then ranked them 1-12 (with 12 being the ‘most’ ear wormy of all of them). This was a fun but tough mix to listen to, since by the end of it, my brain was just full of noise. Some of these songs have choruses that will come back to haunt you all through your life…

Seriously though, as a warning, these are very addicting songs that are likely to just play in your mind long after you’re done listening…so proceed with caution!

The episode is available on Apple Podcasts and other major services here. You can also listen to the version of the show with the music embedded in the episode on Spotify here.

Here are the 12 incredibly addicting ear worm songs we picked:

  1. Get Lucky by Daft Punk, Pharell Williams, Nile Rodgers

  2. Golden Boy by Nadav Guedj

  3. Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie (A Man after Midnight) by ABBA

  4. Toxic by Britney Spears

  5. The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?) by Ylvis

  6. Tubthumping by Chumbawamba

  7. Barbie Girl by Aqua

  8. Gangnam Style by PSY

  9. We Like to Party! (The Vengabus) by Vengaboys

  10. Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley

  11. Macaerna by Los Del Rio

  12. What’s Up? by 4 Non Blondes

    1. Funny enough Matt and I both picked this song , which is part of why it made it to the top of the list. But even outside of that fact, What’s Up is seriously one of the most ear wormy songs on the planet. Maybe because it’s such a huge karaoke hit, maybe because it’s so easy to sing along, maybe because we ask ourselves all the time lately “what’s going on?!” — who knows. But even as I type this out, I find myself wanting to sing the chorus…
